Since 1981, The Dallas Institute has enriched and deepened the life of the city through the wisdom and imagination of the humanities. A nonprofit educational organization, The Dallas Institute offers programs for school teachers and principals, general courses of study, public and professional seminars, and books published by the Dallas Institute press.
Every semester the Institute offers groups and classes for adults. Our regular groups are monthly breakfast and lunch book groups, a film class to discuss current cinema, and a Friday night salon filled with intriguing conversation and good food and wine. We host a four-session class called “Ladies’ Night Out,” offering delicious dessert and interesting conversation with women about this semester’s theme, classic poetry.
This semester we’re also offering a plethora of exciting events and programs. Our events range from a discussion of race and class in terms of the PBS documentary, Eyes on the Prize, a French experience hosted by Dr. Elizabeth New of French Affaires, and a class that will study the most ominous of Shakespeare’s villains.
